Hi Guys
My new S3 has low oil pressure, the sender unit has been changed but still varies from 25psi to 50psi over 2k revs when hot.
The oil is a 10/40 semi synthetic.
I am told that the oil should be a 15/50, is this true?

I take it were talking TVR S3 here, not Land Rover or Audi??
If so which engine has it got, I seem to remember they used both the Ford V6 and The Rover V8 in the S series.

I used to stick 20w 50 valvoline in my S3.I suppose you'll need to know if it's got hydraulic tappets or not.If so,it may need different oil,if not 20-50 Valvoline every time.
Before you go too bananas changing stuff take the car to a garage to get them to check the pressure. Mine looked low but I took it to a local place who screwed a gauge into the block and gave me a true reading. My sender was knackered but your guage could be screwed or earthing somewhere if it varies a lot.
I just used 15-40 magnetec in mine.
Regards,
Mark

TVR S3 has Ford 2.9 V6, if it had a Rover V8 it would be a V8S.
