This has been a problem for a while now. When driving, fumes noticeably come into the car unless air recirculation is enabled. Cat has been replaced as has exhaust from downpipe all the way back. Anyone got any ideas?

Exhaust manifold in engine bay leaking.

Either way, it should be easy to find what is causing it rather than just changing bits.

Thanks - is that something they'd likely have spotted while replacing the cat or could they have missed it?

The cat and silencer did genuinely need replacing anyway, I was just hoping that was also where the fumes were coming from but apparently not!

Generally if it is fumes in the cabin they will be picked up by the fan drawing air through/across the bonnet vents, which is why I mentioned it.

Unfortunately, if you just went into your local fast fit centre, and told them you need a new exhaust, they will have done just that, so no, they may easily have missed it, if that is the problem.
