New fuel injector

Can it take a car/engine a while to get accustomed to a new fuel injector?

Which engine? Some BMW direct injection setups, for example, can't just have a random one swapped in.

I only looked at it when I first started the car but it looked to be constantly spraying fuel. It's a 2001 Suzuki swift

Shouldn't do, but it depends on what the original injector was doing.

If the old one caused the fuel trims to run rich it could take a few journeys before the fuel trims are fully flipped over to the proper running.
