Hi peeps. Girlfriend recently got a 20 plate fiesta either 1 litre or 1.1 litre not sure exactly vct engine I believe. No turbo and not an ecoboom. For the life of me I cant find any information online whether it has a wet belt or not? No idea if it’s a chain, belt or wet belt. Does anybody know?? 🙄😁👌

Recent ones use cam-chaim now, but still use a small wet belt on the oil pump, no idea why (2018+)

Stick the reg in euro car parts or equivalent see what comes up for it.

The 1.1 Ti-VCT is a duratec engine and is uses a timing chain. There is no wet belt at all.

Nope. With the introduction of MHEV they moved to a cam chain.

I believe earlier ones with the wet timing belt have the turbo located nearest the front of the car. The turbo position was reversed with the later chain driven ones, although have read the oil pump drive is still a wet belt.

The 1.1 litre is indeed a wet belt engine with port injection rather then direct. I guess Ford used the Ti-VCT name to differentiate from the EcoBoost.

If it's a 20-plate then the options are:

- 1.0T Ecoboost (wet-belt)
- 1.0T MHEV Ecoboost (chain)
- 1.1 Ti-VCT Duratec (wet-belt)
