Watched this last night Stevie strangely enough came up as a suggestion 
the one I watched from another subscriber way back the differences were not so easy to spot 
but they was regular NGK etc not precious tipped variants . interesting none the less and owners should know about this as the outcome could be catastrophic as you know .........

The lack of precious metal on then top is one sort of obvious caveat...
But packaging etc, harder to say unless the manufacturer confirmed one was incorrect.
I've had a few sets of Denso plugs which have had different boxes etc, different size, type of cardboard. Would need to check country of origin, not sure if they were the same.
But they were just different even though the plugs appeared the same although I never looked in great detail. these were just cheap copper plugs anyway....you'd assume being cheap anyway, is there much scope for profit in a fake when a new original is only like £2-3 ?
The last Iridiums I did buy were from Rockauto, they were just far cheaper than locally. Crazy really...postage faster too.
