How much brake fluid does a VXR8 brake system hold?

If I am changing it totally on my VF, I normally buy 2x 1 litre bottles of DOT4.
Think it gets through at least a litre, maybe just over.
Of course when I bleed it, I am a paranoid I have seen bubbles! So I probably go through too much!
The internet is saying 1 to 1.5 litres for a full flush on a VE HSV.

I have a Monaro and as mentioned above I use about 2 litres of the stuff. I always waste a bit by making sure I have no air bubbles so the system gets a good flush out.
If you have AP’s, bleed the inner nipple first then the outer one.
If your fluid is really old or black I would buy 3 litres just to be sure, you can always use the rest on the clutch system.
My car has a quick bleed line on the clutch which makes changing the fluid easy, I usually change it every two months so it’s always clean.

Thanks for the replies,I was thinking of using about 2 litre in total so I wasn't t wide off the mark there. How do you know when the the new fluid is. through? Is the new fluid cleaner looking?
Sorry about all the questions but if only ever bled brakes before never a fluid change!

Generally the old fluid will look darker than the new stuff.
I start at the rear left ( looking from the rear of the car ) and usually get through two reservoirs full of fluid on each caliper.
Hopefully the bleed nipples are free of corrosion and still have their rubber caps on, or the job will take a little longer frown
