Planning to change the oil on the car every 3000 miles, where does everyone get the oil filters from ? Can I use the one from the Monaro ?

Yep, just got back from Oz all GEN3 oil filters on Holdens use the same filter. Its quite short. Maybe 4". I bought a couple for a VT2 and the monaro was listed as also using the same filter.

I get the filters from the local Vauxhall dealer, can't remember exactly what they cost but I think they are below £5.
I've used Valvoline fully synthetic for the past 4 yrs now, no problems so far.
Good idea to change the oil so frequently.
P.S Forgot to say that yes they are the same as the Monaro's.

Hi Count,

You should be able to pick the filters up from any of the assigned Monaro Dealerships.

Part Number: 92142006
Cost: 3.80 + VAT each

Sadly no discount for bulk buys

I tend to keep a couple on the shelf for easy access when the time comes.

I also use the Valvoline FS Oils and change it every 6000 miles. At this interval with my driving style it's about ready for a change. Changing it every 3k seems a little keen IMHO but it's up to you and whether you can afford the oil at such regular intervals.

Cheers

I swapped the US 13/16" adaptor on my sump, to a M20x1.5 ( I assume the Aussie versions use M20 ? )

I now use a cheapy oil filter off a Citreon Purflux L923 or something similar.
