Check engine warning light

I have a 2004 vxr Monaro with 64000 miles, warning light comes on every time I start up. It is becoming more frequent as I drive especially when pulling away when idling . I have spray cleaned the sensors in the air intake with no improvement. Anybody had this problem , car is running fine. Also what's the best obd2 app for this car as the ones I have tried say no issues.

Do you mean 'check engine light' which then clears if you press the mode button.And all seems to run well with no obvious issues?
I had similar, basic code checker couldn't pull any codes.
I took a chance, after reading lots of forum history, and replaced both the O2 sensors, my problem was solved.
Can you confirm, you have a 5.7 VXR with a large boot? The rare one!
Code reader wise, I have recently bought Autel Maxi AP200 tongle thingy me bob!
It works well enough, and recognises my Monaro under Vauxhall software.
Seems to talk to all modules too, although requires a manual scan of each module to check for faults.
With my 2015 Astra, it scans the whole car automatically and just seems a bit better.
But for the price, I can recommend.

Yes it is the check engine light and does clear when mode button is pressed, but it soon comes back on again. And all seems to run well with no obvious issues?

It is the 5.7VXR with the large boot and lower road tax.
The O2 sensors you replaced were they in the air intake throttle body as I have spray cleaned them with MAF cleaner. (Never touching or wipe drying the filament inside.)
It's soon going for it's annual service and MOT so I think this issue will affect the emissions test.

No mate. The O2 sensors are part of your exhaust system and sit before the cat. Because you have an 'early' car like me, you only have 2 O2 sensors, not 4 like the later 05 cars.It is the 5.7VXR with the large boot and lower road tax.

Like I said, I changed them on a punt that happened to cure my issue. If you get a code reader first though, hopefully it will tell you instead of guessing like I did.
AAS of Newcastle can supply and fit if required. They did mine.
The part number on my invoice from them is Bosch 15703, but please double check.
Thanks for all your knowledge and help, sounds like I have the same problem. As those 2 O2 sensors are on the exhaust, I'll have the service centre do the job. I've priced them up and they don't seem too expensive 🫰. They maybe able to clean them. I use MW performance at Chester, they've always been fair with me. They'll be able to pin point the problem when connected to their computer so I'm not chance buying another obd2 scanner.
