The Wortec cat back exhaust went on last week without the centre boxes. Many thanks to Paul Roger Andy.

AWESOME

It is sensational when playing around.
All journey's now involve detours for tunnels and under passes etc.

The only downside is the centre boxes will have to go in due to the frequent long distance journeys

However 15 minutes should be long enough to swop them over whenever the urge is strong

You are not the first person to say this, what is wrong with it for long journeys? Is it just the noise?

The noise and vibration is just too much for everyday use on long journeys. Between 1000 and 2000rpm which are motorway speeds in 6th gear, at the end of a long journey you step out of the car slightly deaf.

The good thing is at least u have the option to swop them over when you want some fun.

Bring on the switch operated by-pass system!

DMH Performance Electric Exhaust Cutouts are designed to replace the block-off cap on most dump pipes. This allows the dump to be opened and closed from inside the vehicle. No need to crawl under the vehicle to remove or install the caps. The E-Cutouts work by welding into your stock or modified exhaust. They can be placed anywhere after the headers. To open the cutouts, you press a switch, which also releases your exhaust. This enables you to bypass your muffler, increasing horsepower and giving your car an extremely throaty rumble. The cutouts have a maintenance-free, CNC-machined, billet 6061-T6, aircraft-grade aluminum body with a 300 series stainless steel shaft. They also have INA needle bearings for smooth operation, and feature machined stops at zero and 90 degrees. Other features include a high-torque gear motor, and a plug and play 16-gauge wiring harness with a simple 2-wire hookup. All connections are sealed with heat shrink for a weatherproof seal. The kits are supplied with 10 ft. of wiring and include a small black rocker switch that only requires a .75 in. x .50 in. opening. Elongated mounting holes allow for the rotation of the E-Cutouts for clearance. High-temperature O-rings are imbedded into the body of the E-Cutouts to ensure a good seal. They are fully adjustable from open to closed or anywhere in between, and include a 4-year warranty.

They can be found here

Hehehe been looking at these for a while - 04 guys with no cats, I think open headers is going to be all the sound you ever need! Is it possible to remove the center boxes from an 04? No cats, no mufflers - now that is going to be loud!

Now we're talking! If I go get a Monaro, I'm gonna want it LOUD, but wifey is not going to want to wake/scare everyone on the school run, that is the perfect solution. Someone PLEASE do it.

Thunder racing has them as well www.thunderracing.com/catalog/?action=vshop&vid=13&pcid=101
Had my eye on them for a while.
Ive wondered how well the valve seals though, cant help thinking it wont leak a little.
Would be interested to hear from someone.
Looks like $400US a set with cut outs, or $35US each with manual blockoff's
