I had read a few threads where people had fitted 255/35 18s to replace the stock 235/40 18s and I also thought it would look better with a wider stance. Had also read that front steering felt better with the stock ones than the wider ones. So, on needing new rubber I thought I would put the 255s on the rear and leave the 235s on the front. For those interested they look like this...

Tyres are Dunlop Sport Maxx

And lastly this one because I think the car looks cool

Yeah I went with 245x40x18's based on this forum too. They fit fine, in fact they look near stock.
The 255's look like they are getting to the limit of width, but look ok.

Maybe Ill try 255's next

Pushing it a bit with 255 on OE rims, 245 OK but still over-tyred if you do track days. Better to get 81/2 rear rims.

A friend has 255/40's on his. They fit fine.

The standard 235's are too narrow for the rims, and look a bit silly IMO.

I've ordered 275 on the rear & 245 front, but will be rolling the arches too, using Antera wheels with a 9.5" wide rear rim and an 8.5 front.

Must admit, I'm suprised how narrow the tyres are on these things. I followed one the other day (newport pagnell - was that you?) and thought they looked skinny. My BM has got 265's on the back and struggles for grip on a relativley paltry 286bhp - on an open diff, I assume they come with limited diffs as standard?

They do have LSD's, although they are pretty tame.
