Hi guys,
I am seriously thinking of changing to a Monaro but want to make sure I get the right one.

What are the main differences between the 5.7 and 6.0 litre models (besides the obvious). What are the main upgrades and mods carried out on these cars?
And for what performance gains?
What are the main issues of ownership?

Maybe some daft questions but I have spent a fortune on my scoob getting it to what I wanted and knowing what I do about the car now I could have done it much more cost effectively.

Thanks in advance for your help

6L only available in VXR form which has uprated suspension, brakes, engine calibration, exhaust etc.
04 model has larger boot, but only 5.7.
05 has smaller boot (still some 04 models selling with 05 plates though)
VXR models are all HSV GTO's rebadged.

Best buy Id say was 5.7L VXR as it has large boot and factory upgraded stuff.
Otherwise best value is 04 cv8 again due to larger boot.

Best power is 05 6L VXR but also most expensive.

Been there Ash, and come out the other side with a VXR, not really looked back since!

agree with Ringram really does depend on the boot if you need one you will need the 04 then spend additional 7k on upgrades 410bhp big brakes coil over shocks and ripshifter. still cheeper than vxr

Afaik this car is still for sale. If interested you could get a very fast car with most of the standard mods already carried out and a couple of extras to boot. Can put you in touch with the guy handling the sale. Car is in Edinburgh.

It leads to a condition called Tunneling... be careful.. Julian has had the condition for a couple of weeks now, believe it follows the car around..
