The King of Saudi Arabia has sent a royal decree out lowering the price of unleaded petrol to 60 hallalas (8.5p)/litre & 20 hallalas (3.5p)/liter for deisel. That means to fill my Jeep tank full with 60 litres here in KSA, it would cost me £5.10! (based on exchange rate of SR6.8 - £1). Now then, if the alleged 'worlds biggest oil producer' can charge those prices & still 'make a profit' then what are the likes of BP, Shell etc making...and more to the point, what profit is the government making! Yet, every Budget, the Chancellor hammers, amongst others, the drivers!! Wonder if there will be another tanker driver strike?

Sign up to this site and find the cheapest fuel in your area, or if you're going on a trip, find a cheap garage....

www.petrolprices.com/

It works for me - I'm saving 5p a litre in my town.

Thanks Demolition Man - signed up for that...the info provided by that site will be most useful!
Bo55 - Gone into the logistics of doing that & it would work so long as I didn't get mugged, or held to ransom on my way home!!! Long trip though!

That's a great site. It shows that I could save 5p a litre in my area.

Unfortunately, when I worked out what I would save (£3.50 on 70 litres) versus the extra 12 mile round trip (£2.61 cost) it doesn't look so good

jimb0 - I understand that, it's obviously false economy to go out of your way looking for the cheapest fuel, particularly 12 miles, but thats not the point. The point is that it's information available to you that wouldn't normally be 'in front of you'!

OK, wait for the V8 Supercars to go to Bahrain and we can come along and protect you and refill from the back of the truck on the return trip.

I didn't mean to sound like I was knocking the site - I think it's great. Just bemoaning the fact that petrol stations are so far apart up here in the sticks. Might save a few bob on diesel for the wife's car though. Now where's my calculator............

jimb0 - Ah, now I see what you mean & I see your point about the distances involved! Maybe just have to really plan your travelling now to take advantage of the cheapest garages, or just trust to luck? To heck with your calculator - just get the map out! lol.
