Over ride service schedule reminder

I think this may have been asked before, but does anyone know whether the service schedule reminder on the dash digital read out (of my CV8) can be switched off/overidden by me. Vauxhall dealer is claiming only they can switch it off when it goes in for a service, which seems a bit anti-consumer if you use an independent dealer to service it (e.g if you have had engine mods done etc).

Vauxhall dealer can reset it with their plug in diagnostic equipment. I presume it would need to be a Monaro specialist but don't see that as a problem.
Brian "Caspy" of Greens should be able to let you know.

do a search on here - there's a poweron/press accelerator type method of resetting it been mentioned several times. Oh and any Vauxhall dealer can reset it as long as they have the current software loaded - my local dealer did it for free several months ago before I'd heard of the do-it-yourself routine.
