Windsor, Berkshire area Monaro's

I am an American living in the US. I am a Pontiac GTO owner (sister car to the Monaro).

My company is sending me back to our Windsor office for a few weeks next month (June). I used to live in Windsor for nearly 3 years and moved back last July, so I know the area well.

Just curious if there are any Monaro owners on this forum in that area? I met one guy (Dave) before I left Windsor, and it was actually his blue Monaro that I rode in that sold me on getting the GTO when I moved back to the states.

For those of you who are there, do you know of any places to buy Monaro parts cheaply? I dont really have anything in mind yet, but was wondering if I wanted to pick up some body panels for the Monaro, or other assorted items (emblems, etc), if there are any good places to buy them from?

If there are any Pontiac GTO things you guys want, let me know and if they arent too big (suitcase-able), I could probably bring them over with me for you. I will be flying out on the 31st of May, so would need to get things moving quickly.

Glad you got the GTO ! Sounds like you are enjoying it. I'm still around just as before.
Maybe I should get a job as a Monaro salesman? !! FYI, just bought a 2000 C5 Vette to go with the Monaro. Not quite as powerful, but stunning to look at! Give me a shout when you are back in the UK, we could go for a pint or 3.

iirc there are a number of the monaro owners on here would love to get hold of the pontiac wide angle side mirrors as there have been several attempts to get them when members have been in the states. Think there's a 5 day lead time though so they'd need to get their orders in pdq.

I kept thinking your nickname on this board was V8Dave. I looked for you and couldnt find you before I made that post.
If there is any GTO accesories that you would like, let me know. I can give you my home address so you can buy it and have it shipped to my home, then I will put it in a suitcase and bring it over. Heh heh...that sounds like a scam doesnt it. So...why dont you go ahead and buy that Magnacharger supercharger, new cam and heads and have them shipped to my house. Oh yeah, and make sure they are for the LS2 as well. Heh heh.
Seriously though, if there is anything small enough to be suitcase-able, I am happy to bring it for you. I am traveling with the family, and I am packing for 3 weeks, so I wont have a lot of room, but could manage some smaller items.

As much as I would like to bring a lorry full of side mirrors, I dont think I could fit those things in a suitcase and still make it through customs

By the way... nice going on the C5. Those cars are pretty fun. How is it not as powerful as your Monaro? Dont they both have the LS1 engine? Unless of course you have been modding your Monaro.

I think I will be staying at the Knight Place apartments...have to wait and see.
