Fantastic play today in the Midlands. My first long run in the red VXR.

Your car is totally awesome. My son wants all the upgrades you have and said could my other toys have kept up....I doubt it...except ofr the BUSA.

Can you tell me where you had the mods done?

Also i think i may have a ticket on the way from the boys in blue.....really tired having left the North of Scotland at 10am

cheers

Dunno, why Will hasnt responded to this ...... BUT!
The RECENT mods were mainly done at Linden Special Vehicles in Northamptonshire, with the exception of the exhaust (cant remember where that came from!!!) I'm sure somebody on here will know tho!

Yes, that was real good fun, you might be surprised that is the first time I have ever played with another HSV on the roads at that speed in 4 years & also the first time I thought all the money I have ploughed into the vehicle was worth it.

Lighting up the tyres for a drag start at the M6 toll booths was insane but oh how I smiled.

Linden Special Vehicles have maintained the car for over 4 years and carried out all the modifications to date with the exception of the Wortec exhaust which I recently had fitted, yours by the way sounded awesome so I guess you have done some mods yourself?

Basically I have the LS1 / 5.7 ltr engine which has the GTS-R heads with forged pistons & con rods, 222/222 cam, reduced comp ratio to 8:1 with 8 psi from the Vortec supercharger, larger sump with additional baffles, Harop diff cover, AP racing brakes, power steering cooler, coil over suspension & polyurethane bushes set for fast road & track, lots of other mods but that’s about it.

Plan to fit a new drive to the blower & increase the induction to 12 psi which should net well over 600 brake, currently producing 570 brake & 590 ft lbs of torque.

Hope you do not receive any brown envelopes in the post, as I do!

Thanks Will (and Mrs V8 for reminding him,)it was great fun. I also have a nicely tuned Cerbera and except for initial acceleration i really dont think it would have kept up with you.

Mine is a 5.7 VXR I bought it 6 weeks ago and as far as i know it's standard. I'm not technically minded but i presume that if i had any mods done by an Indie it would invalidate the 2 years warranty i have?

Hope to see you again

You exhaust did not sound standard as you were making more noise than me! I don't think your warranty will be invalid with certain modifications but am not knowledgeable on this but I am sure caspy (Vauxhall dealer) or Stu Harris from Vauxhall can elaborate.

From what I experienced yesterday mine pulls very well past three figures but below that the difference is not that noticeable as I have experienced before, did a track day a couple of weeks ago & found it slow, heavy and not that quick but give me an open road (non-public) and I am sure it will pull to 200 mph as 30 mph shy of that is done under acceleration.

Yeah, hope to meet you sometime
