I was there and saw it all - Video captured on my phone but poor quality.
Well sad to say but it did a 44 second standing quarter and there are engine bits as far away as Scotland, not
Come on, lets have the times or I'll ask Ted to kill the thread and save on band width! How does it compare to Stevies tweaked Granada?

I was there with Kevins car and am still recovering! When I walked through the show to register the car for the 1/4 mile I met Suzannah Sorrell who had a standard 6.0L VXR.
Here web sit is here and explains here sideways challenge www.sorrellichallenge.co.uk . She was keen to run her car down the strip too so we decide we should run together and race.
This put the pressure on even more, not only was it my first time down the strip but I was up against a girl in a standard car!
First off was the staging before your got to the start line. I must have pushed the car 1/4 of a mile in 1/2 an hour to stop it getting too hot waiting to start. Any one who has been to Santa pod and pushed a car along will know what I mean. There is a small incline at the end just before the start area which is the point where a 1700kg car becomes very heavy to push!
The first run was the most nerve racking, having to tell the marshals that you had never done it before and getting them to help you with staging. Then every thing went quiet and the lights went green. I launched the car at 2k and was off. I was very concerned about bogging the car down and looking stupid but managed to get away. The adrenaline was pumping and it was all over in a flash. I remember hitting the red line in 2nd and it was all over. The time was 13.033 and I beet the standard VXR by 1.24 seconds, the 1/4 speed was 114.24.
The second run I calmed down a bit and managed to get a 12.975. I am sure that there is allot of technique involved in getting a good 1/4 mile. On the third time I managed to get a bit of axle tramp off the line and that resulted in a time of 13.350.
Through all the runs I did not use the launch control and was not pushing as hard as I could because it was some one else’s car and probably changing up to 4 th by the end of the run was not a good idea. If I went back and had another go I am sure I could do better. I can see how doing 1/4 mile's is very addictive.
It would be great if Steveturbo could give me a few tips for next time!
The show was very interesting, the first Performance Vauxhall show I have been to the range of cars was great with interesting trade stands.
Line up of cars waiting for the off
Suzannah trying out a Ripshifter
An interesting Vauxhall or two was seen
Will you get those girls out of my picture ( I was trying to photograph the car honest)

A good ET is mostly in the launch ( provided you dont completely cock up the rest of the run )
Good terminal speeds indicate power.
Technique really is trial and error, as different cars, require different launches and shift points etc.
When I was using bog standard road tyres, I launched circa 2500-3000rpm, but quite lightly, feeding the throttle to prevent wheelspin.
I shift a little over 6000rpm, but that is very much car dependant. Some may like more, others less.
My best so far is 11.17 @ 130mph. Best terminal so far is 134mph.
I hope to improve on that this weekend. I'll be at Avon Park on Satruday, and possibly Santa Pod for Classic Ford on Sunday.
If nothing breaks, that should improve.

I was there all weekend.. I missed the Ute run, but saw it pootling about. It didn't get too great times from what I saw though (considering).
That Calibra is my friend's (Simon). He and his brother (the girls would be his daughters) have started their own company, Uber customs. That paint job was four days old...
