New type Wortec Exhaust
Discussion
I just had one of the first of the new Wortec cat back exhausts fitted to my 04 VXR.
Its superb, it comes with 2 sets of interchangable centre pipes as standard. One of the sets is straight through to give a nice and loud sound and the other a pair of boxes to give a more discrete exhaust note.
I went for the straight through pipes and it makes the most incredible noise, popping and banging on the overrun and screaming over 5k revs.
I had one of the earlier Wortec exhausts on my first Monaro and all I can say is that the new one is much louder and with an oval tail pipe it looks tremendous.

Any power gain from exhaust?
or just noise, pops & bangs.
How long to change boxes?
do you get oven gloves with kit?
Just curious.

The new Wortec system provides a very noticeable power gain, car feels much keener to rev post exhaust swap. Its like the standard exhaust was restricting the engine.
The noise is incredible its half way between the bassy burble of a Griff 500 and the hard edged sound of a Cerby. Its seriously addictive.
The centre box for straight through pipes is a very simple swap I guess a 5-10 minute job at kwik fit. Seems like an ideal compromise system.

Is the back box with an oval tail-pipe available on it's own?
I think it would look nice, not that the dual outlet one doesn't...just nicer.
Oh yeah, how much all in fitted too?
Anyone know?

The cat back system is circa £1k fitted including straight through pipes and boxes.
It has an oval tail pipe design.
