I've noticed a few white bleach marks under the surface of the paint (about the size of a 10p piece) appearing over my VXR.

I mentioned it to the dealer today when having the airbag recall fitted. The Bodyshop guy looked it up on the computer and said there was a known problem with moisture getting under the paint during assembly - but only with the silver ones.

Rectifying the problem is easy & doesn't take long. All they did was wave an industrial heater gun (Black & Decker paint stripper gun) at it for a few minutes from about 15cm away and the spots vanished. He said if they come back to try the heat again, if still no joy, then repainting under warranty is the answer.

Hope this helps some Silver (quickest) Owners in their quest for detailing perfection

Just as well you trusted them - Not sure I would have liked to have watched!

I've got a few marks in the paint on mine which sound like this. Caspy, can you comment on the proposed heat gun solution.....sounds a bit scarey!

Mine looks OK, must be the heat generated in the body shell by the speed!

Hmmm Must check Mine when I get it back. The dealer has had it 10 days so far trying to find a water leak and replace the carpets again. Oh and do the airbag recall.

Silent Monkey - don't know if its any help by I had a water leak problem with mine (04CV8)- after replacing all the seals it was eventually traced to the membrane behind the passenger door panel which had failed, allowing the water to track down the inside of the door from the window rubbers and draning into the car rather than out through the drain holes in the bottom. Jeff and his gang at Greens traced it for me.
