Ignition on.

Depress accelarator 5 times.

Ignition off.

That works for 05 cars. Not tried on an 04 though.

There is a way via the trip computer buttons, may be worth searching posts. I cannot remember off hand.

With the ignition off hold down the left and right arrows on the trip computer and turn the ignition on, hold them down until the lcd starts to flash then you hit the mode button....I think. It's in the manual near the back and I don't have it on me but from memory thats what it was. I can check for you if this doesn't work.

Yeah I finally figured mine out. Headhoon is right. The dash will beep and say "Reset", you then press mode I think and it resets the service stuff.
It does work, well on my 2000 anyway. You just need to mess about a little.
