Jewelultra Diamondbrite

Any body had any experiance with this stuff. The dealer recommended it (as you would expect) but it does sound like a great product. I was told that a one time treatment gives the car a showroom look guaranteed for 6 years with out the need to polish the car at all. All you have to do is add a cap full of conserver when you wash the car. I was offered this at £299 which seems reasonable if it does what it say on the tin and at £50 a year seems ok to save all that effort and cost of Autoglym etc. Also its a 2 stage application process to apply and I guess it needs to be done right to prevent moisture or crap from being "sealed in" so I wouldn't want to do it and balls it up
I've searched the net for info and seen claims that it can actually degrade paint over time especially if applied incorrectly so thought it worth asking if anyone had any personal experiance of this product?

Don't do it, that stuff is bollox and a rip off from the dealers, it's the same as Supaguard. They don't sell it on the 'free' market because they would never be able to compete with the real products so instead they jack the price up 1000's of % to make a large profit as an 'add on'. Search for it on: www.detailingworld.co.uk and you'll find out more and also how to properly care for your car.
Cool thanks B055! Dan, I'm complete shite at cleaning polishing and all that stuff - time is the biggest prob for me so the diamond brite claims seemed to fit my way of life
Showroom gleam, no polishing required, guaranteed for 6 years etc!!!! Is there something similar/better out there that you would recommend?

i had the treament done from new and have been very happy with the car shine for a year now it still looks good after just a chamie down, and the award winning Booster commented how good it looked at a meet earlier on this year, if it fits your life stlye of cleaning i would go with it as i am happy with it.

Dunno why that link isn't working, if you do a lot of hard miles I could understand why you'd want it but if you're willing to put in a bit of effort then the results can be astounding and if you want longevitiy sealents like Zaino and Menzerna can last for months. Do a little research before you blow £300, of course we've probably spent twice that much on porter cables, Zymol waxes and all the other stuff we've got but it does make it look the dogs nads and it's been a progressive thing. That stuff definitly isn't worth £300 but it's a great way for the dealers to pick up a lot of commission!
Also, there's been some debate as to the claim of 6 years and it seems that if you wash your car it strips it straight off or something like that anyway.

Dan, what do you mean by hard miles? are you saying its worth having if you do them then?
I do do well above average mileage and the bugs NEVER survive collisions at my normal speeds

I have one of the products on my black one. Looks great with very little effort. You pays your money, you takes your choice.
Caspy, do you have diamondbright?
Diamondbrite and JuwelUltra can both be bought off eBay for less than £10.00. OK, so you have to apply it yourself but so what. Tell you what - you buy it and I'll apply it for £100.00
That's a lot cheaper than a garage. It is a sealant and is quite durable the only problem you will find is that the dealer will apply it over an unprepped and swirled surface (that's how all dealers prep their cars - can't blame them, your average Joe Public wouldn't have a clue)- so the first time you see the car in the sun you will want those minging swirls taken out. Guess what to take swirls out you have to remove the Diamondbrite.......Doh!
So to cut a long story short. Get me (or any other respectable detailer) to polish yer car properly for you removing swirls where possible (cost around £100-£120) and if you inist get them to apply the diamonbrite too. All in you're looking at £150 tops for a concours finish.
I reckon for someone who doeesn't have time to clean their car that often that this (Diamondbrite etc) may make some sense. However, I thoroughly dispute the claims of the longevity of the product.
