I am considering some AP brakes at the moment. Any opinions? I have the 343 premium HSV ones at present. Just need to convince myself I can afford them and justify the expense.

IMO the best mod. you can do. I promise you will not regret it, I paid c.£4k for the AP package that LSV now sell for c.£2.5k!

Not really sure I want them fitted if they have to be bedded in properly. Not sure I can handle all of that GRANY driving for how ever lit takes!

The bedding-in process is in 3 stages.

1. Go somewhere quiet and do a load (at least 30) of light brake applications from 55 to 30, preferably in blocks of 5 with at least 1/2 mile between each block of 5. You need to be prepared for this, as the brakes when you first use them will be as spongy as a blancmange and just as effective. You need to have somewhere in mind BEFORE you pick the car up, and ideally it will be near the garage, free from traffic, NSL (so you can do 55 without getting scammed) and long enough. I didn't know about this and ended up driving around like my granny looking for a long quiet road. Maybe the garage can help with this.

2. for the next 100 non-motorway miles, increase the braking pressures, avoiding full stops from high speed.

3. for the final 100 non-motorway miles, gradually increase the braking effort. Once this mileage is covered, full power stops can now be performed.

For stages 2 and 3 I chose to avoid my usual motorway-based commute and take the longer A-road route. I had the whole process complete inside a week. And man, do they rock! More brake dust on the wheels than before, but wow what stopping power, and zero fade under any circumstances. Awesome!

Do it properly, it's worth it. I wouldn't fancy the repair bill if the discs warped
