Blardy hell!
That thing has some serious grip!
It corners like a bloody go-kart, it really does! Corner? Think "steer" and you're round it...brilliant!
Stops on a sixpence too.

It's my loan car from Greens whilst the Moaner is in for a service, a noice 06 black one.

Loads of power although you do have to wait for it to arrive sometimes - it is a turbo jobby after all and the gearbox is sooo so sweet...it just falls in to the gear you're thinking about...really nice.

Not so sure about the seats, they hold you in place nice & solidly but they've given me a bit of a back-ache, probably only need a bit of getting used to.

The car only needs cruise and a couple of cup holders though and I'd seriously consider it if & when the new 07 models turn out to be as grim as the mule cars seem to look.

Cheers Greens (Caspy & co) nice one.

They are very good aren't they. What is interesting is that since the official UK launch have been driven Glass's have raised the residuals for the car, on the basis that the production models are far better than the cars the press were driving at the media launch.

Now that was a nice car to drive (around brands)... very understated and very quick... astra is an out-n-out rocket ship... the vectra does the same, but stealthely...

What's one of those?

If it's what I think it is.... I saw one the other day in my rear view mirror, dissapearing rapidly! (obviously on a nice safe road always leaving enough room to brake safely )

I heard that the Vectra was a very nice car around Brands on the VXR day that Vauxhall ran (Is that the day you are referring to????).

Well if you were driving your Monaro I would be most dissapointed if you didn't leave him on a straight stretch of road.

Although.....I did hear from a reliable source that at Brands it wasn't that easy for the Monaro to loose the Vectra when it came to the twistie bits.

I genuinely reckon an Astra VXR would be all over a Monaro of any variant like a rash in the corners...like on rails

Just to add though, IMHO, the Vectra could use 4WD

Lets hope they develop it for the next car.

I just can't get excited over the Vectra. I have no doubt it's an extremely capable machine but even with the VXR twist it still looks to plain for me. It just doesn't ring my bell. The Astra on the other hand bares it's teeth at you when you look at it...It has that bit extra that I just can't put my finger on.

Vectra is very subtle, although in Red it's a different story. When the Vectra gets the power upgrade (as available for the Astra) then I think more and more people may take a different view.

I hope so, after all it's soon to be the flagship when the last of the Ro's are sold. Maybe a test drive will change my mind! I'll look into that!

Get one on the track and rag it one!!

Then come back and tell us what you think of it.

Stuff what it looks like, it is a fantastic drive for the car that it is!

That's praise indeed coming from someone with a big V8.

Your car looks great in black Paul. I have asked Caspy about a black VXR for September delivery, but I really want to see what a VXRPC modified Vectra will be like first.

Someone tell me about the 2 piece spring loaded flywheel that the Astra has, apparently is prone to problems & failures?

Anyone know?

Not heard of that one Nigel. Clicking steering and rear lights that mist up yes, but not dodgy flywheels.
