My baby needs some TLC. The paintwork is ok but it's hanging out for a wax etc. Does anyone in the Kent or South London area offer this service and can be trusted with my pride and joy (Monaro).

I would do it myself but I would rather have it done by someone who really knows what they are doing.

This is my current process. The whole process will take 2 full working days (at least 16 hours). I can, of course just do the basics if required.

Detail Process
Engine Bay and under bonnet.

1. Cover all exposed electrics.
2. Megs APC sprayed and agitated.
3. Light rinse.
4. Dry.
5. Surfaces treated with Megs AG Vinyl & rubber care or Einzett.
6. Wipe and buff.
7. Regrease hinges and locks if required.

Wash, Dry

1. Meguiars APC/AG Engine Cleaner on arches. Agitate and rinse off.
2. Meguiars APC/AG Engine Cleaner on tyres. Agitate with brush. Rinse off.
3. Meguiars Wheel Cleaner or APC (depends on alloy type/previous treatments/amount of grime) on alloys agitate and rinse off.
4. Pre-Rinse Car with Jetwash.
5. Pre-Soak car with Megs Hyper Wash and leave to dwell for 5-10 minutes.
6. Rinse Car.
7. Soak car again with Megs Hyper wash
8. Two bucket wash. 1 warm water (30-35 degrees). Top panels with lambswool mitt, lower with chenille wash mitt. Include door jambs and boot areas.
9. Rinse with Jetwash to include underbody.
10. AG31 mix rinse and sheet water removal.
11. Pat dry with WW drying towels and follow up with MF towel and Quick Detail Spray including wheels.
12. Air compressor to remove hidden water from mirrors, boot and door jamb areas.

Decontamination
1. Depending on car paint type and condition. Sonus green or megs clay with Megs QD lube.
2. Paint decontamination with hand applied Megs Deep Cleanse #1

Polish, Seal & Wax
1. Pre-polish inspection and paint assessment. Isolate scratches and swirls.
2. Paint depth testing (not currently available).
3. Mask off all plastic trim with low-adhesive tape.
4. Machine Polish. Selected product depending on paint type and swirl/scratch level. (Megs #80, PB SSR 2.0, 2.5, SRP) to include wheels.
5. Hand applied glaze (Megs #7 Show Car Glaze or Zymol HD Cleanse)
6. Buffed with MF
7. Hand applied sealant (AG EGP if required) including wheels.
8. Leave for 60 minutes.
9. Megs PlastX on all lenses.
10. Buff off with MF
11. Hand/PC applied wax (Zymol, Souveran, Megs #16 Mirror Glaze, 1Z Glanz Wax)
12. Buff off with MF.
13. Final buffing with PC and buffing bonnet.
14. Polish glass inside and out.
15. Buff off and assess.
16. Remove masking and treat rubber and plastic trim (Einzett or AG)
17. Apply wax to wheels. (Megs Mirror Glaze)
18. Apply tyre dressing to tyres (Megs Endurance Gel, Einzett Rubber Care)

All Microfibre and Waffle Weave towels are the best money can buy and are imported from the US.

Zymol products are:
Detail Wax
Ital Glaze Wax
Destiny Wax
Atlantique
Field Glaze

Total Price £150 (add £25 if Zymol treatment is required).

Thanks Paul! And that photo was after I'd driven up from Poole and 1 go down the strip at St Pod, so not at its best.

Ha ha! Sussex isn't THAT far away. My bro lives in Brighton. Why don't you come to Dorset for a weekend and leave the car with me. I'll sort it out for ya! I'll ask Ben if he can do it first though. You won't be disappointed.

Well I've got a great alternative car for you to use! It's my white flaked, Rover 418TD estate! N reg and goes like a tractor on 2 cylinders! Tell you what, you'll really appreciate the anonymity it brings, and when you get back into your Monaro well, it'll be like getting back into her from new all over again!

If i had two spare days you could deffinately do mine, however Nottingham is a bit far.

Got to say that finish looks the dogs b******s

After that shine I wouldn't want to take drive it home.

There's a chap in Leeds who is one of the best in the country at VERY reasonable rates. Dunno how far that is from you though?

Can you get me his details

I might make contact as Leeds is only 50 minutes away.

If he can shine it anywhere near that good it would be sound.

Sure no probs. What colour is it? Doh. Just realised it's black isn't it. I thought we'd decided you were too far away? Maybe I could get someone closer to take a look for you?

You come up Bob and I'll proudly do it for you. You won't like the weather at the moment though. Can't see more than 100 yards.
