I've noticed the last couple of days when parking up in the morning, that there is a trail of water about 5ft behind the car. If I then move the car forward a few feet, there is a small area of water which would have been under the engine. I had checked my coolant level the day before and it was fine.

I called up my local Vauxhall dealer they suggested that in very hot weather the aircon moisture tends to cause this. I've never noticed it on any other cars that I've had, just wanted to know if any of you get this too?

have had this with every Vauxhall I've had with aircon and yes the Monaro does it as well. I was told before its the condensation that forms due to the cooling action of the air con on the warm damp air.

Normal operation

The Compressor is fitted with a refrigerant gas which it uses to cool.

If this was oil then you might need to worry but all condensers (aircon) drip water in the cooling mode

Some of them use to recycle the airconditioner water.

Just a trick as well, when the car gets a bit older, you might notice your leg getting wet when you drive around a corner. This is cause there is a little tray that catches this water, and there is a little rubber ball with a slit in it on the outside on top of the transmission. Sometimes this can get built up with road grime and oil and stuff, and occasionally you will need to hop under the car, reach up and put your finger throw it. (usually followed by cold water trickling down your arm).

Nice trick, cheers Raggyman. I'll have to remember that next time I go round a corner too fast and think I've wet myself
