Does anyone know if there is a way I can get a power supply to my Road angel without having to have a wire from the power socket in the glove box all the way up to the dash? Perhaps down through the demister vents for the windscreen or something?

Greens have done it for me. In fact, they've done it twice because I upgraded from the RA2 to RA Nav and they required different power requirements.

Not sure what they did, but the wires go down through the Binnicle and I suspect they just splice into an existing line.

Very tidy job as well.

Would the mobile phone connector work for that? Pretty sure there is a plug into the loom under the centre console somewhere.

Mine is wired through through the gap between the windscreen and the dash and is 'plumbed' into the constant 'live' wire to the under stereo cigerette lighter.

Had mine done when the stereo fitters were instaling my stereo.

Just make sure you don't overwhelm the wiring..... watching your burnt out pride & joy being wetted down by the fire brigade is not fun

ffs Jeff do it yourself - we're not exactly talking rocket science here. Or next time your down this way get in touch and I'll do it for you if we can get an hour or so. All you need is a multimeter to trace out the correct supply lines.

You don't even need a Test bulb. Surely you just need to lick said exposed wire to find out if it is live or not?

installed the K&N and the magnecor leads - hint for anyone ever doing that themselves - leave the engine a long time to cool down before attempting the ones at the back on the drivers side. I welded my arm to the headers having just run the engine for a couple of minutes Oh and the lying across the engine from the front technique works if you can squash your arms through the gap to the back. Thick forearms are not helpful in any way! Can't say as I've noticed any real difference but didnt really expect to.
