When running low, you get a "Low Fuel" warning.. Anyone have any idea how much further you can go (assuming, low revs, short-shift, fuel saving mode)

I wouldn't reccomend it for dragging all sorts of crap through the system but we've all done it before.
I have gone past the "0 miles remaining" on the trip computer before, got another 5 miles past 0 then bottled it. As for the distance after the light comes on, mine usually beeps at 40 miles left so with very sedate driving, I would say 50 miles tops.

No,its not something I woudl recommend either, but sometimes, when your in a world of your own, cruising on the motorway and you suddenly get "The Call", you then have to decide, "Will I make it to next service station or should I get off next exit an look around" - Having sat nav helps as it will give you nearest station, if you ask it nicely

I know exactly what you mean. Do you know anybody with the new Road Angel Navigator? I am thinking of buying one soon and would just like to hear some owners views.

Just the RA Nav. Is it any good? What do you think of it? Saved you any points yet?

a) Seems to get me where I want to go - not really had a problem with navigation
b) Its good when you are outside your own turf as it will let you know where the cameras are (and probably has saved me a NIP or two)
c) "Black Spot" alerts are rather annoying...
d) ...as is the M25 Variable cameras... thing goes off every 10 seconds

If you're going to Donny (can't see you on the list), I'll give you a demo

Can't make Donny as I am "working" at the time. Thanks for the offer though. I want to make the next big meet for sure and meet some of the forum members. Is there anything big planned for the coming months? Couldn't see anything too much in the events calender.

I will take some video of our open day at work (this is why I cant do Donny). If I can get permission from the boss, I should be racing a Tornado F3 down the runway. There's me, a Porsche 911, Sierra Cossie and Prodrive STI Scooby in the frame at the moment, all just lads on the Sqn. Will have to see what happens.

Sorry to drift O/T

No worries... in fact, this is probably how the most useful info bubbles to the surface.

The race sounds cool... I really hope there's a video of that.

Man I have done this big time once in NZ with the Monaro, covered some huge distance went below zero and it even started to sputter a few times when I finally came across a garage....phew.

Advise would be if your running low is to switch off as much as you can in the car. Aircon, stereo, lights (if its not too dark0 even the fan & radar stuff etc. Also make sure your windows up as that uses more fuel as well.

Road Angel Navigator is okay but you have to get the upgraded software. Excellent for speed cameras but took me down a very thin dodgy road where greed stuff got lodged everywhere on my car....post code error which was 10 miles out. Most of the time it is very good and on 3d display shows you how the road ahead looks.

Am happy with it, especially on roads I do not know for the obvious cammera warnings.
