Paul,

I will be throwing the addresses of everyone into the computer to work out some strategic meet points and I have noted your recommendation

Bo55

Edit: It is highly likely that we will have to be at Donington quite early (8:30 - 9:00) so your suggested timings may have to change

I suppose we may as well get started on meeting points/routes sooner rather than later.

Until December there are long-term contraflows on M6 around jcts. 5 to 8. I pass through here every week and it's iffy at the best of times. My job entails travelling all over UK. I've no self-interest on this as I'm in W. Scotland and at the moment am thinking about the A50 to Donny.

South bound Hilton Park doesn't offer any advantages that I know of, just pointing towards a major trouble-spot at any time of day

Yup... I will be in Stockport... somewhere... been there once, and don't know alot of places there yet. Let me know where and when, and will ask Sarah's sister where it is.

Man, 6am start?? Hope you going to bring me breakfast and a big cup of coffee.. only kidding...

Stockport to Donnington about 1hr 45 to 2 hrs roughly but at that time on a Saturday Morning even quicker.

Take the scenic route and come over the cat and fiddle to join the M1

There are a few owners going that are in the general area(stockport/rochdale/macclesfield) and some that are a slight diversion away, so just trying to get an idea who,s available so i can make arrangements for travel from this area.
Appreciate what you are also doing regarding strategic meet points and will take that on board.
PS.There must be a reason arriving 8.30/9.00am rather than 10.am?

Yorkkie
The A50 route is a possibility as is across the moors(saddleworth not yorkshire. Will let you know.

Sorry for the early start but Bo55 VXR recommends we arrive early so i will buy the coffee an he can buy the breakfast.

Jackel
Yes the cat and fiddle is a good road and one option for the route, the extra travel time allowed is provisional at the moment depending on who is on board. Can i count you in?

Hello,

I am up for the meeting at Stockport, but I personnally think the A50 + A500 is the best route but open to any input. That route is really nice and good for a cruise down the A500.

It really depends if we are just meeting up to go to Donny or just cruising around and then going to Donny.

Cheers
Steven

Hey Paul,

Thanks for the e-mail. I'm really not bothered about where we meet up - you'll be travelling south whichever way out of Stockport and I can tag on from Macc easily. Whilst Swordfish is right - the A50, A500 is good & direct, it's also as dull as dishwater and from Macc generally requires a tedious drive down camera alley (A523). My personal preferred route to Derby is over the Cat & Fiddle, around Buxton via Harpurhill, then down the A6 bearing off at Wirksworth. Scenic, camera free (it was the last time) & vomit inducing !! But it all depends on who is joining in.

Does that help ?
