anyone know the best tyres?.

Mine have pzero's which came as standard.

Ideally a good all rounder which doesnt wear out in a few months.

My rear's have lasted a year which aint too bad I suppose.

Regards,
Mike

I have P Zeros on mine CV8(front and back) and are pretty good

I put 245's on the back to oversize slighly to protect the rims a little bit

Mine came with Bridgestones but am happier with the P Zeroes as I think they are a good all round tyre.

Always prefered Toyos, in my Imprezza days, but doubt they would last long on the back of a Monaro!

I swopped to Eagle F1s on CV8 in stock size when the oem bridgestones wore out at 15K. I prefer them to the old type and they are lasting much better, even though I'm not kind to them!
Might try P-Zero next time combined with a change to 19" rims.

I'm Still on the originals but I found Avon ZZ3's were very good on My Turbo Calibra.

But like all things its down to personal taste and the way you drive um.

mytyres has links to reviews and has a list of local installer who will fit them.
I got 4x245x18's for £340. Much better than the old tyres. Id even be tempted by 255's next time.

They have a good rim protector on them

Nankang NS-2 245/35 ZR19 93Y

Now £106 each

They can be delivered to a delivery address other than your card addy which is useful too

I bought 4 new Contintal Sport Contact III from Kwik fit for £680. They should be circa £1k but Kwik fit have them on a 30% off special.

Grip much better than the previous P Zero, Much harder wearing and have rim protection built in. They stood up to the Nurburgring without graining or any apparent damage.

They come in a high load version which is ideal for the Monaro power and weight.

They come fitted as standard on the 997 so they are a pretty good tyre.

Lets hope they stay together at 180+

I'm fed up replacing my rears if you get my drift, I will be driving these tyres to the max & will let you know my findings

I actually have these as well. They get just as good reviews and ratings as name brand tyres. 4 out of 5 for dry road driving etc.
Took mine around the nurbergring no problems. Better traction than the old tyres and no problems so far in 5000 miles.
As Will said, mine are there for wearing out. So it made sense to wear out cheaper ones. Also with the inner edges wearing on the VT2 models you dont get full wear out of them anyway.

I wouldnt fit cheapo tyres to a 170mph car.

I think for the sake of saving £40 a tyre you can get something designed for European roads and with a more suitable weight and wear rating that will last 25% longer offsetting the cost.

Its amazing that people will spend up to £10k on upgraded brakes and then fit Nankongo tyres.
