The £60 will more than likely end up in the Police Benevolent Fund.

I got flashed by a camera on the northbound A2 going into London about 6 weeks ago, still not heard nothing. But I have never seen it before and it is placed in what I would consider to be in a "we'll ave ya" location! Bleeding fudgepackers!

www.pepipoo.com

I'm in the process of trying this out at the mo on behalf of the wife. Some very interesting stuff here on using the PACE defence.

I'll let you know how this progresses

From another forum

"For what its worth, a friend of mine decided the exact same thing as you about a month ago. You can get a copy of the letter from Pepipoo.com for free, which is where he copied it from.
It was sent off exactly the way that Pepipoo instructed, and about two weeks later he got a reply.

What he got was a completely non threatening, very polite and very well explained and laid out letter quoting about 9 different cases v the crown, each one of them with the defendant using this defence. Each one with the crown winning, and each one explaining in very polite clear detail why each case set a precident over this defence and inviting him politely to feel free to test the precidents set in each of these cases in court if he wished.

I think its a fair assumption that while this letter used to be a way to exploit a loophole, since it was made widely known in the media, the police and the courts have done thier homework and dug out enough previous cases to set precidents to close the loophole.
I guess it was inevitable once the loophole became too widely exploited for them to ignore."

They have 14 days to issue you with a Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP). If there hasn't been a NIP sent to the registered address of the vehicle within this period of time, no prosecution.

Looks like you got away with it Mose!

TBH honest I dont think I got away with anything, as I am convinced I wasnt even travelling over the 50mph limit. I always have the digital speedo on and that was showing 47, and the needle was under 50 as well. Ther were other cars around at the time, but they weren't travelling any faster than I was. Thing is, I aint ever seen it before, but it was the flash that alerted me to it being there.

Point of order, they have 14 days to issue any NIP.
Once that's done they then have 6 months to actually track you down.

To be honest, I was doing 40 in a 30 zone, as was everyone around me ... and the first I knew of it, was the flash. One of those camera's that's going to be a license to print money! Maybe as Paul-C suggests, I should just shoot the damn thing out!

LOL! And they wonder why our Cities are deserted and out of town shopping is becoming so popular!!!
