wife was waiting at traffic lights in the heat windows down

some little sports car came along side (not sure which one thinks mx5 Women!!!!)

anyway the driver turns to his passenger and says don't worry it's only a vauxhall (believe he wanted her lane)

she dosn't know what he said next as she could only see him in the rear view mirror

PMSL when i found out

i think i would have just stuck my finger out of the window and pointed at the V8 badge on the side

Stopped at traffic lights in Inverness and some aussies pulled alongside and said "What's a Holden doing with Vauxhall Badges on?". I explained and told them the usual about the airbag being the awkward one to change (cost). I think they would have paid to get it done if I'd spoke to them for longer

Scratch one MX5

I'm thinking of getting some little stickers that the old fighter pilots used to put on their aircraft to indicate kills. Maybe different ones for Fezzas, Porkies etc..

Some of the TVR boys put these on for the Le Mans trip. Little Porker and Prancing Pony stickers with a cross through them...wouldn't be hard to make up.

Yeah some of those beasts are setup to push out 700+ bhp. Doubt there's many cars on the road going to give them a lot of bother unless you get one of those big gas bottles in the boot

Nah, it's the 300zx's you wanna watch out for

Not mine though.....280bhp is puny compared to a bit of V8 muscle. And I have to wait while the turbos get out of bed

That'll be why then........... No MX5 driver would ever make the mistake of trying it on with a VXR!!!

Did that to a 911 (not turbo)...at Xmas. I am told that above 100mph is where Monaro's/HSVs really reel in the more serious.

Yep, especially when supercharged, mine can make a Monaro look stationary past 100 as witnessed by someone on this site at the M6 toll booths recently. Sub 100 and it can only just nose ahead of standard Monaro/HSV's

Defo. Supercharged HSV was pretty much unbeatable between 100-150 mph.

Everyone rags their car away from those booths - I actually envy the guys who work in there - its like a public drag slip. Came north out of the booths a few weeks ago and PCV8 shot past me like the Starship Enterprise - made me feel like I'd got the thing stuck in reverse. Must try harder next time

Or who's driving!

I know someone who has recently been trialling an unmarked souped up Evo 9 for Kent Police...... They said the number of scooby drivers who tried it on, drove like a loon and tried to burn off the Evo...... and then got really upset when the blues & two's came on. It's almost entrapment Although he did say that 90% of the Scooby drivers drove away with a verbal caution.

Who's to say Police forces aren't testing Monaro VXR's ????????????

Beware who/what you're dicing with !!!!!!
