Morning chaps n chapesses,
Did Bedford Autodrome on Saturday (last minute spur of the moment type thing) and now have no front pads (looks like the OE pads are made of a mixture of cardboard and chewing gum). So.....Help!!! Just tried EBC as I used Red Stuff pads on my previous motor and they were great only to be told the 6.0VXR isn't listed!!!! Tried Ferodo's web site and that's the same. Can anyone tell me where I can get some pads that don't turn into gooo after 10 miles of silliness?????
Yours Hopefully, HOLTY!

the red stuff pads are useless. had them on my old CV8 and they wore out in less than 5k miles

Someone said Porterfield pads were excellent but does anywhere in the UK sell them? I also read about Corvette pads fitting Monaro VXR calipers but being bigger. Is this true and if so what model of 'vette do they come from?
I'll probably be wanting an upgrade set for the VXR-brakes-equiped CV8 so I'm open to suggestions.

Just a quick note to say "TA VERY MUCH" to Doug and the boys at LSV for sourcing and fitting some pads for me this morning....Can't praise Doug enough as he kept me posted on what was available, when it was available and managed to squeeze me in first thing this morning ready for tomorrows Dyno run. have a feeling I may be back there soon....;-) Thanks again...
For the record it appears the pads are indeed the same as the '04 VXR except for having a v small clip as opposed to the scaffolding that the older ones seem to have
Roll on tomorrow...

Fronts are the same on Monaro VXR as a C5 Vette, I'm sure. On my Vette, the front calipers say PBR, made in Australia! Bizarre for a yank, thats the "global parts bin" for you I guess. The General likes to keep his parts count as low as poss. Anyway, I suggest using pads with the ferodo DS2500 compound. Have a set on the Monaro with the APs and they are simply stunning. I cant fade them no matter what I do, and they work just as well cold as hot. I'm so impressed, Picador have ordered me a set for the Corvette, and these are the same fitment as VXR. Hope that helps a little.
Yeah, Bedford's a fast circuit and really hard on the brakes. I went for EBC Red Stuff pads which worked out at £120 for a full set plus £50 to fit 'em plus VAT - Bill came to about £200 all in. I'm doing the novice evening at Brands Indy Circuit on Monday so we'll see how the new pads cope...
I think Chris at Picador said they were about 140 quid for the fronts. but I cant remember for sure. Thats for the Ferodo 2500s. You can fit them yourself, takes about half an hour each side if you clean up while youre in there. Just remember to draw off some fluid from the master cyl before you start or it will make an mess when you push the pistons back in !!

keep an eye on them, my cv8 wore a set out and hot spotted (knackered) the disks in about 4k miles
