Paul,

bit cheeky this but what's the chances of an exhaust (catback) system that has either a manual or electronically controlled valve/flap thing that allows for quiet pootling when required or rip roaring when not?

It'd be like having the interchangeable box set-up all in one system.

(Be dead easy to pass trackday noise regs too...ahem )

We fitted a set to the VXR500 today and they sound good........ there is still some work to do on the mapping to the PCM so it will still take some time to get a finish product out....

Also we need to make sure they retro fit to all our interchangable systems......

I can't believe you posted that and got a positive response
I was thinking about all my neighbours going nuts as I roared in late at night and thought its a shame you can't get something to "dampen" the roar when you need to. I was even gonna post and ask when I stopped and thought....."dont be a pratt! like anyones gonna make that" LOL

I was watching Top Gear I think it was and they mentioned something like that in one of the Ferarris.
So I thought "ooh, that's a good idea, wonder if Wortec have any plans?"

several OEM's have valves in the exhaust which open up for a different sound when you boot it.

Yeah but the ones fitted to the Aston Martin V8 vantage (new one) are crap because down low you get nothing and I'm sure everyone on here loves the low down rumble of a V8... I heard a Vantage go past at low revs and I was like, so what?

I initially tried my Wortec catbac without the silencers. It sounded awesome around town, but drove me mad at cruising speeds. I also attracted the attention of the Citroen Saxo Max Power Brigade....... NOT my style!!

This system would solve my volume problem and if electrically operated, it would be such a cool gadget!

I'D BUY IT YESTERDAY
