Ace Cafe - 7th Oct

Bathurst Day at the ACE on the 7th would be a very good place and time to pay some sort of tribute to "King of the Mountain" Peter Brock. Does any one have any suggestions for an appropriate honour to the great man?

I'm waiting to hear back from them to find out what they had originally planned and when I do, I will suggest, at the very least, a two minute silence, no, scratch that, a two minute round of applause

Peter was, among other things, a big campaigner of road safety. For those who dont know, he carried the number 05 throughout most of his career. The original reason for this was because he was part of a Victorian State road safety campaign and .05 was the maximum legal blood/alcohol for driving. Hence the importance of the 05 rather than just a 5.

Based on that, Id say getting there safely, drinking responsibly and getting home safely would suit him just fine.

Having said that, Id love to spend a quiet minute among other fans reflecting.

Perhaps if every car carried an 05 on it somewhere? We could have an 05 party?! Might not be immediately obvious to outsiders whats its about but immediately obvious to the people that matter and that's kind of funky I reckon. Its something that will visible on any meeting points and convoys too. I plan to make one for whatever I turn up in anyway. I didnt know him personally but Ive met him a few times and am a huge fan - he wasnt one for lots of fan-fare.

Good suggestion.
Any one got contacts or ability to make up a couple of dozen '05' stickers/badges? I'm up for a couple if it can be done.

Very good idea i will contact a mate of mine to get some 05 Stickers made up give me some idea of size we want and i will get a price.

Something along the lines of the HSV.ORG.UK stickers...about 1" square per numeral

Suggested location, very top left of windscreen or rear screen
