I changed mine at 25k or so, as it was listed to change in the service schedule for my HSV. I noticed no difference, suppose it depends on the rubbish that has been put in the tank. I would be interested in a picture of the insides to see how bad it looks.

Golden rule : If you see a fuel truck in the service station... keep driving. You would be supprised at how much rubbish can get into your fuel system. Older service stations and independents rarely clean their tanks, due to the cost and the length of time they aren't pumping petrol, costs them money. Anyhow, takes about 4-5 hours for all the silt and rubbish to float back down to the bottom.

Yes I know, filling up after 120 miles can be a pain
I hope and pray that's town driving half the time and your foot in the bulkhead the other half

It's not fuel starvation, well I hope not with two tanks & two pumps, thought it was to stop dragging up debris?
20 mpg is about the best I can hope for on a run, spirited driving & the figures are halved, track use about 8 mpg!

That's not that bad considering the state of tune your car is in I'd say!
