I have been a bit of a muppet with the old curbs recently and I need to get 3 of then done, so why not do all 4 and get them a different colour?

I think Bennno had his wheels re-done in silver, rather than the chrome look you get on a 04 VXR. See this. I think it looks great.

Anyway, I have a black example, but what would it look like with black wheels? Is anyone a whiz with Photoshop? Or point me to one that has already been done?

tbh I've seen a black astra done with BMW anthracite for its wheels and they looked stunning. Indeed its my intention to have mine powdercoated in the same or similiar colour.

I like black wheels, but only if they've still got a chrome or polished lip

Satin (semi matt) black wheels work best but in my experience this is best with a silver car (I had a Mk2 Elise and thought the colours worked really well). Black wheels on black car can look a bit, erm, 'night rider'.

I like the smoked chrome finish wheels as standard but you may struggle to find somebody able to refurbish for sensible cost and timescale that can offer a finish similar to O.E. as they are supposedly powder coated.

Thinking about it if I dont get the right offer for my car then I am half tempted to get the wheels refinished in satin black and fit a supercharger.... hmmm

My personal opinion is with Twin Turbo, the only good black wheels retain a chrome, polished or brushed silver rim. Something like the Simmons V5 or BBS spokes in black with a silver trim would look great.

(Standby for flimsy reference to previously owned car for an excuse to post a picture of it)rolleyes

Against your black with a big thick spoke like you have, I reckon a brushed aluminium look might be good. Still slick but less BLING than poliched or chrome. I had DTMs in this colour on my Alfa (there it is!), looked the nuts - to me at least.

Gratuitous riverside shot of "the ex"

Wheels really do maketh or breaketh the car I reckon.

A bit bling, but I like 'em. Also like the wider rim at the rear.

i think the monaro needs flush faced wheels as the others pictured make the car look bulbus and under wheeled IMHO

I'm for the black with the polished lip... but without the black windows.
