We have 3 cars and a couple of bikes so this will pay for itself soon enough.

I also bought a load of Sonus pads etc to go with it along with some Poorboys SSR1 & 2.5 (yeah yeah, I don't doubt that some will recommend other products...).

Now then, the machine comes with a dvd and I intend to do some practicing to start with (I have an old car door I can use) but are there any other tips?

lubaz, I got mine from these guys: www.autopia-carcare.com/pcdepot.html

Hastle free & extremely quick service. They even sort out the UK customs & excise paperwork for you. The delivery costs to the UK appear steep but it's worth it's weight IMHO. Some of the products entitle you to other free or reduced priced products and there's always the 'Free Sample' product so don't forget to put it on the list & enter the code at the end.

Here's what I ordered from them and I've been extremely delighted.

Name Code
------------------------------------------
Sonus SFX Polisher Kit SON-SFXPOL-KIT
P21S Carnauba Wax P21-127
Klasse All-In-One KUS-KLA-10
Klasse High Gloss Sealant KUS-KLS-GLA
Glaze
Sonus Der Wunder Buffing SON-DWBT-2
Towel, Pkg/2
Sonus SFX Ultra-Fine SON-3200-R
Detailing Clay, 3 oz.
Refill
Crack & Crevice Detail MBM-296
Brush
Two-Way Mini Detail Brush MBM-BR-296
Sonus Ultimate Drying MF-200
Towel

Once you have the Polisher and goodies there's several places in the UK that you can buy more bit from. The 'detailingworld' forum posted above is a good place as several of it's members own shops.

With the Dollar @ 1.88 to the pound it's a good time to buy (unless it goes back up to 2USD). They also have regular sales for special holidays so if you save even more if you waited until xmas. If you're willing to wait I'd recommend that you sign up to the Autopia/Perfect-Shine site and wait for the discount mails to hit your inbox.

Remember, the polisher will come with a US plug and requires 110V. This is rectified by buying the following from Screwfix:

Code Description
------------------------------------------
73851 750VA Portable Power Tool Transform
16691 110V 14 Metre Lead 16 A
19947 110V Accessories Plug

I documented what I did with mine so if you want a copy let me know.
