If you will accept some advice use Millers 10W-40 Competition Specification (my choice) or Millers CFS 5W-40 oil. Both far better than any others I have tried. My LS1 engine was described by Wortec and Monkfish as 'the quietest LS1 they had ever heard'. I have used Millers engine oils (and Redline gearbox oil) for many years in serious power cars and can report zero problems compared to others.

I took Paul-C's advice and went looking for Millers CFS 5w-40 at my local dealer. He wasnt aware of the CFS version of 5w-40 as they tended only to sell the 10w-60 for subaru and evo owners. Instead he directed me to the Millers XFS 5w-40 fully synthetic (32 ukp for 5l) which they did carry in stock. Deciding to give it a try I can confirm that I noticed an immediate reduction in engine noise over the Vauxhall sourced oil I replaced. CFS version is race spec oil and costs around 50% more than the XFS if the 10w-60 is anything to go by. NB you'll need 2 x 5l bottles as it uses around 6.5l to do a full oil and filter change.

For those who want a budget alternative use Comma as they 'blend' the Mobil 1 oil, I use 5-40W fully synthetic, about £5-6 per litre in 5 ltr quantities
ahey, i dont understand this are you suggesting comma make mobil 1 ?
That is exactly what I am saying
Yep, My sources say that comma Syner-Z is the same stuff.

It does get a bit chilly at times so maybe the latter would be better?
