Hi ya Bigwheel,
Would of replied earlier but internet has been offline!!!
Outside air temp on my car was reading stupid aswell, I located the sensor which was front lower of radiator exposed to all the rubbish!! our roads throw at it.
I removed sensor cleaned it up (connections rubbish and wet) stuck it in the oven at 120 for 30 mins reconnected it then all ok also put some thick grease around joinon connector and has been fine since.
Also bought spare sensor for a pittance which I still have from local company (same part number as omega outside air temp sensor Siemens VDO unit)
I believe LSV have got some of these in stock. Know i paid under a tenner for it.
Hope this helps
Nick

Nick, when you're o/s temp went South, did you notice if the climate control in the car wouldn't put any heat out, regardless of temp. setting? Only way I can get heat is to select H on the temp. setting.

Took the sensor off, quite dry.
Peeled off the .lecky tape and gooey sealant from the connector and dried out a few drops of water with a hairdryer.
But it hasn't fixed the over temp readout
Could try another Monaro's sensor to see what happens......
