Here is a link to a press release

www.motoring.co.za/index.php?fArticleId=3439421

looks like it does have a big capacity engine but not as powerfull as a LS1

Quote from press release "The engine and transmission were adopted from the Unimog. The OM 352, a six-cylinder diesel engine with a capacity of 5675cc, was given a prominent and clearly visible position on the front axle. It delivers 61kW - an impressive figure for the Smart ForFun2."

Shame they did not put a powerfull engine in but at lease it has torque being a diesel. thumbup

Wow! Impressive info!

Think Will is winding me up! LOL! I know next to nothing about Smart's beyond driving them! Love the pic tho ... I wouldnt mind driving one of them, I'd certainly stand out on the road!

I want one! I want one!
Its my birthday soon ... and I havent put a request in yet, so this is it!
