Ended up at Shakespears raceway for the RWYB yesterday and got creamed by:

1. Pug 106
2.)Pug 305
3.)John Cooper S Mini

I did end up spinning up too much once or twice but my 60 times were indicating that I should have been getting low 15s but I was constantly in the high 15 (15.9) or mid 16s. Now I put it down to my crap skills but also I reckon that the gear throw doesnt help at all.

Timing the throws I reckon each one takes close to 1 second (ok this doesnt equate to a second lost) but add the total up and it must come close to a second in total? Am def getting the ripshifter to see what difference it makes for the next time.

The car behaved well but I found that when I came to leave, when I turned on the engine, the check light came on twice so left the car for a while and it didnt reappear. After a similar experience in my 350z that time it was due to the 02 sensor in the exhaust, the car didnt go into recovery mode but i took it easy on the way home (will hook the odbii reader up later to see the codes) but is this a common thing on the ro's?

It's not a sprint car mate in std form.
The gearing is too long and the change is too slow (as you've discovered)
It's also too heavy.

The longest change is 1st to 2nd and you'll find that the others get quicker as you get used to the box.

What 60' foot times were you getting? They really are a bugger to launch, fastest we ever went in our one with the Focus Pac (430hp) was 13.5 @ 107mph. 60's were about 2.3 IIRC.

Well at least you are the first one to make their time public.
An excellent precedent and leads into a nice suggestion for a future day out.

slinky I must have seen your car parked up right on the entry to the pit area, was yours the one parked not too far from where I was (mate was with a purple skyline)

Nige, I dont want to do the diff, drag strip is just a bit of fun! I am certain that the ripshifter will certainly help, it seemed no matter what I did hooking into 2nd was where things bog down. I put it down to my cackhandedness but that throw is about 5 miles long, I actually finished the 1/4 mile quicker than I could get into 2nd from 1st.

Rag thanks, I think!

Yup, as you came in, we had two cars parked next to a large white trailer.. the dragster and the autograss car..

I'm afraid I didn't see you run... car looked lovely though!

'scuse me, I posted mine on September 22nd.....readit rolleyes

Recent trip to 1/4 mile at Crail, Fife.
With Wortec Sportpac, I couldn't better 1/8th 76.1mph, 1/4 mileTV 101.8, ET 14.532sec with 6 runs. Are these reasonable figures?

TC off for burnout, TC on from the lights. But even with TC the tyres can still light-up.

I think we should sticky this thread so we can post 1/4 mile times in it.
