Wide Angle Mirrors - Second Round
Discussion
Well, after a very possitive response to the first batch, Jagsy and I have decided to do a second run at this... The cost of the first batch (of 20) was £25 + £2.50 p&p and I dont expect that to change much but currency fluctuations and possible lower numbers may increase that marginally - but just ask around, they are the dog's doodahs.

My VXR arrives tomorrow. As you can imagine I'm more than a little bit excited.
Congrats!
I remember that excitement, it still hasn't died down after almost a year

Just a couple of questions about these mirrors. Do I need them? And are they easy to fit for someone with the mechanical aptitude of a rhino?
IMHO yes you do, the standard fit drivers side mirror is complete crap and this gets rid of any blindspot.
As for easy to fit, you will need to ask B055, I think he fitted most of them! All that you need is a screwdriver and a lot of bottle to pull off the old one.

I'm just as excited as you, Halle, because tomorrow I pick up my steroid-enhanced car...
The problem with the current driver's mirror is that it is totally flat, with no blind spot eliminator...which is a problem because the Monaro has a blind spot the size of Western Australia...you can loose an big-rig truck in it (not that one will have a chance to pass you).
The new mirror is convex (or concave, never work out which way) but it gives a much wider angle and, completely eliminates the blind spot.
As for fitting, well, most people at Silverstone did wince a bit when I dived in with the screwdriver but having done 10 of them it does become fairly second nature...You have to be a little bit bruttle to unclip the mirror from the backing plate.
And for £25... Best (non-performance) upgrade by far.
Where are you based, I could provide a fitting service for you if local (south-east)
BO55VXR Thanks for the swift response. Count me in for a set. I live and work in Germany as I am in the Army. Post and packing should still cost the same as I have a BFPO address. As for fitting I'll have a look myself and if I think that I'll make a mess then I'll let you know when I'm next back in the UK. Cheers.

I do not know if it will fit... There's obviously a few spare (flat) mirrors floating around it you want to try first... Is there anyone in your area that has the new mirror that could help?
