Checked out the New VE HSV GTS
Discussion
Didn't take one for a test drive though, cause ran out of time, but had a quick look over it, also had the standard "Omega" as a car when I was back in Aust.
Couple of things....
The Boot is HUGE!!! I think much bigger than the Old one, and the good news is that they got rid of those stupid arms for the boot. Handling was out of this world... huge difference. Battery is now in the boot... (looks like it is going to be a bit of a job when you go to replace it too). Umm, not alot of space under the bonnet though, actually quiet weird how the engine disappears under the windscreen. Sure there will be a picture of it somewhere... One thing was awesome was the windscreen washer!!! Long gone are the days of those useless little jets on the bonnet. Now the liquid comes out of the arm itself, although can be pretty dangerous I think, cause it really coats the windscreen like rain in a huge thunderstorm, but definitely gets the windscreen clean. Inside is pretty awesome as well, but not sure about the seats. They have gone the boy racer way with the seats, so not sure how comfortable they are going to be for a long trip. Also the side panels on the doors don't quiet match up with the dash, so looks a little out of place.
Anyhow, yes, definitely want one now, but think going to wait for the Series II to come out, cause think there might be a few little changes they will need to make. Then what already is an awesome car, will become even better.
