Red VY shape Chevy Lumina SS in Abu Dhabi yesterday (just got home this morning). At the traffic lights just down from Le Royal Meridian Hotel. Anybody on here?

Woody - if you're free on 11th November (Sat) then Ron (bigwheel) and I are off to Dastek at Dalgety Bay for a rolling road day.

As bloody usual, I'm not available! Would have been nice as I need to speak to them anyway. I've just got back from a month in India and Abu Dhabi and was told while I was out there that I have 12 days at home with the missus and my 6 month old daughter before a month in Belgium on a Tactical leadership program. Not terribly happy at present. Thanks for the offer. I will make a meet soon, I promise!!!!

Hi Woody VT,

If you spend a little time on any street junction here you'd count dozens of "Luminas" and Caprices (lwb version). They are pretty popular here and have been since they were first imported to the UAE in 2000.
The ME versions are all optioned for more gizmos and/or "better" interior (there's no brake packages etc).
They sell for about 15,000GBP here (mine cost me 13,000 quid in 2002).
Fuel prices here are about 90p an imperial gallon.
With no enforced speed limit and beautiful highways it's a good place to be, especially now the serious heat of the summer has gone.
The average speeds one can sustain here are mind-bending, so one doesn't bother to talk about it on here!.......It wouldn't be welcome and would likely cause a riot.
