I know this is asked a lot on here (i'm just naturaly lazy and cannot search for hours!) Does anyone know or can suggest a way to protect Mrs's car from the dreaded stones that have made an attempt to remove lots of her paint? I have seen a clear vinyl thing in auto express does anyone have any knowledge of that? Also anyone know a good paint touch up type person?

The people above can apply a clear protective coating, you will probally need a specialist to repair it first, my experience is that normal bodyshops do a basic fill/rub down & respray but you will still see evidence of the original chip. I know someone that does specialse in stone chips but he is in Bordon, Hants.

I had Amourfend fitted to mine as soon as I bought the car beacuse I was impressed with how well it protected the nose of my last car over 8 yrs and 35k miles. So far, no chips on the 'ro! http://armourfend.com/

It cost about £430, and that was for the front end, wing mirrors and trailing edge of the 4 wheel arches. They'll also do headlights and any other bits you might want.

Some people are not keen on the various protective films as they are never completely invisible...for instance polish residue will lay along the edge of the film, but that's no great hassle to wipe it off. Personally I prefer it to a peppered front end any day.
