My Monaro on the main BBC evening news here in NI

I finally got round to getting the clip from last months BBC Newsline main evening news here in Northern Ireland sorted out and uploaded so thought I'd share it with you peeps:-

I've been involved with the NI road safety council for the last 3 years as well as co-running the biggest modified/car website over here, and have done about 6 main evening news appearances now over those years regarding the number of deaths/drink driving/speeding etc as well as stacks of radio and newspaper interviews, but this was my first with the Monaro (it had only arrived that day)
I appear about 1min 20secs into it...
And with me being fairly well known over here I was asked last week if I'd be the driver being pulled over for a drink driving test in their reconstruction to start the 2006 Drink Driving Blitz, in which I would be pulled for supposedly not wearing a seatbelt, be breathtested as officer could smell booze off me (obviously I wasn't under the influence
) and fail the test, get cautioned, arrested and driven off in the cop wagon...
Both of the main evening news came along as well as 10 or more papparazzi, and trying to keep a straight face when you've 2 big cameras and all those flashes going off was a job in itself nevermind the copper I was dealing with trying to make me laugh when the cameras were behind him and right in my face. IMHO using me appears to have done what we intended, it's got many people that know me or know of me talking about drink driving, obviously I'm getting the "you're a drunk" stick off the mates, but if it helps to stop someone driving while bladdered and saves someones life then I'll take all the stick people can throw at me

he he, yeah I had the great lines "no" when asked if I had been drinking and "yes" to understanding that I was under arrest
