Don't let someone else drive your Monaro, with you as passeneger.

I let GarethH drive mine today and I have to say it scared me witless (nothing wrong with your driving btw).

Saturday on way back from London called in at Reading services for a little break as I was getting tired. Forgetting I had added Sarah to the insurance (makes it cheaper) she suggested driving

I went passenger all the way but was wide awake and aware of anything within 1/4 distance ahead and behind

she did ok unfortunately for me

I let my wife drive and she doesn't scare me (well not when she's behind the wheel )

I am the world worst back seat passenger when my wife is driving (who is also a Sarah!).

She insists on being in a gear too high all of the time confused cant get 6th read is attracted to curbs eek and accelerates around corners yikes.

It is only on rare occasions she drives with me in the car. I quite often let her take it out on her own though... what I don’t know wont hurt me... (touching wood)

Top Tip.... Do not take up the offer of a drive in a well sorted Monaro unless you have very deep pockets! Thanks Alan.

aaaaagggggggggggggggh DONT RIDE THE CLUTCH I shout at her! Coming to lights say 1/4 mile away down the box to nice gear - fine, then in goes clutch and we are coasting. She's managed six bless her cotton socks and drives very nicely but still my sphincter goes into overdrive.

Gareth, what exhaust did you have as it sounded quieter than I imagined. Was good to meet you guys but that garage was ripping folk off for super unleaded - 110p!!!

Ummm, wonder what the ratio is here for HSV vs Girlfriends named Sarah.

My Girlfriends name is Sarah as well. She doesn't want to drive the monaro, but going to get a Day Insure to let her have a go.

It's an early Wortech the same as Alan's, I think his is louder because it has headers aswell, the subtle approach suits me.

Quite high it would seem - my wife is Sarah too!......but she only has a license for autos so I am safe from the other concerns (although she would love a go if it was an auto - she didn't know me when I had my first Camaro which was an auto!)

My wife's name is Sussan but my girlfriend's name is Sarah; does that count?

For the record, I never let either of them drive the Coupe when i had it.

Think Insurance is cheaper with a partner as driver. Guess they think you are more sensible if you are 'settled down'.

Good to meet you guys.

I was amazed it was £300 cheaper to add my wife with 2 accidents within one year! Couldn’t really say no could I?
