with the situation with the new VXR prices I think my purchase time is drawing ever closer , to the point that its just too good value not to have one.So to help me get an idea of my likely total outlay including some mods, other than those below what would owners suggest.
My Definates: Exhaust (pref.switchable) and remap circa £1700
Ripshift circa £400
Diff circa £ 1100
Headlight bulb upgrade £?
Lowered springs only £350ish
Ali look plastic trim replacements £?

Possibles: AP Brakes (although std 6ltr ones would suffice for my driving!) circa £2500
Adjustable suspension ( but see above) circa £1600
Headers circa £1500

Unlikelies: Supercharger( unless I keep the car longer than I intend to and a quieter version is released) circa £5000.

Anything else I've missed, and whats the market for brand new VXR suspension and discs etc?
Alternatively,if anyone is thinking of changing and they have a nice black 6.0 VXR for sale then let me know.

headers, remap and diff nigh on pointless when LSV were doing superchargers for £2.5k+VAT

Think the LSV price may have gone up now though and won't have the Vauxhall warranty?

Yeah, decide your ultimate power goal and head directly there. Will save going down the wrong path and retracing steps etc.

Thats good advice. Speaking from experience power is a drug. It's no good going for 500hp only to arrive and find that 600 was your goal at three times the cost.

I'd jump straight in mate, then do the bits as and when.

With the available prices as quoted, now is a good time to jumo in and get things done in the stages required.

The only problem is, with drugs you tend to always want more and more.

Whilst 500hp may be your initial goal when you get there and get used to it you will want more

Ultimate power isn't the goal as I don't intend to keep the car that long ( hence don't want to go mad on mods as won't get money back) , buying for a bit off interim fun. What I want is a good looking lovely sounding well balanced car, not out and out straght line performance.

Lol! Hence me thinking about it again! Like the idea of a warranted, slightly modded, low maintenaince bit of fun (bit like the wifebiglaugh)
