It seems it is/was the seller's car. So why is he selling it? Surely he diddnt insure it TPFT ?

Judging by the state of that rear tyre the Insurance company wouldn't pay out as it's not road worthy

I wouldn't mind some bits of that. The owner thinks that the box is out of a viper. As I have been looking at upgrading the box this would be a good option for me.

Anyone else interested in some bits?

The box would be the same T56 as in your Commodore, surely? Or not?

Looking really closely it looks like it might have a Wortec/Milltek Exhaust? I wouldn't mind the "piano black" dash bits if I ever get a VXR.

I'd say it could have been a stolen recovered - looks like the joyriders had a ball with the burnouts!

If the seller is to be believed it could be a Viper box. I spoke to my gearbox God and he advises that the Viper box does have strengthened components.

Either way it would give me another box to put in while mine was being rebuilt. Whats the second-hand box worth, £500? If so I would have a go at it.

After a bit of not terribly scientific research it looks like the Viper uses the T56 natively anyway, so it is indeed the same box. But would you buy a gearbox that's come out of that?

The Viper does indeed use a variant of the T56 with a higher torque handling rating. I doubt that car actually has that varient though, why would a warrantied Monaro have it's gearbox replaced with anything but the same gearbox?

Hehe, the camber on the rear wheel is a little over spec I'll grant you :P
