How long does it take to fix a Monaro????
Discussion
Hi all. Some of you, with particularly long memories, may remember that I crashed my CV8 back on June 18th.I had it recovered to my local dealer for repair. The sensible option would think!Well, here we are,22nd of Dec and it's STILL THERE!!!!!I jest not,a Vauxhall dealer can't fix a Monaro!!!!I've heard all manner of poor excuses like they keep getting the wrong parts etc....but if they can't get.......WHO THE HELL CAN????????.Fair enough,it was a BIG bump on the front end but 6 months is a serious pee take!Add to that....it took six weeks to supply a courtesy(I prefer DISCOURTESY)1lt Corsa!I complained to Vauxhall directly and in late October I got a VXR Monaro as a courtesy car!The latest bulls**t is that I "should" get my car back in Jan07!!...Moral...If you fu*k it....fu*k it!!!!You ain't gonna get it fixed by Mr Vauxhall in a hurry!
My 2 week old car went for repair following an accident at one of the "17 specialst Monaro dealers" - a proper Vauxhall one. They had the car for just under 4 months. When I got it back, I had to threaten the insurance company with legal procedings unless they replaced it as the car was a wreck (as verified by independant engineers). The insurance company wanted me to send the car back to the dealer - what?? Were they mad???
I have real sympathy for you mate & hope you get a resolution soon.

Having only picked up my Monaro on Thursday I have to shamefully admit that I stuck it on a roundabout this morning colliding with some strategically well placed signs. I'd lost the backend after pulling away and was trying to avoid a car in the outside lane. I hope I don't have to wait as long as you guys have to get it back. Pride dented but I guess we have to bounce back.

Hope you alright Nick, anything we can do, let me know.
Sounds like a plan Taff! Thanks for your concern Brian, much appreciated. I feel a right plonker and I don't think I have ever felt so embarressed as I had to stand and wait for the recovery vehicle to turn up at what is the busiest roundabout in Eastbourne with hundreds of people gawking! The insurers reckon the car will go to their approved body repair shop in Southwick but if you don't mind I'll ring you on Wednesday for some general advice.
Would love it to come to you guys as you have been great to me from day one and I know how much love and attention you and your staff give to these cars so I would love it to come to you. I didn't realise I could choose where I want the car to be repaired so I will raise this with the insurers after Xmas. I only have a picture on my mobile and the consensus of opinion amongst the guys that were there was that the damage is mainly superficial although to my untrained eye it didn't look pretty!

Hi Chaps."apparently" they keep being sent the wrong fans and motors. To be fair it was a heavy frontal and I was told to expect anywhere between 1-3 months!Ha...I wish!Gotta say though,I'm have some fun with THEIR VXR!All the best....Dave.
To be fair there has been a huge issue with radiators and fans, I know some cars have had bits borrowed off them to placate customers, the issue is sorted now though and bits are readily available.
