This months evo mag. arrived today. I was drawn to the Driven section & the feature on a ZO6 with Lingenfelter mods. boosting power to 616bhp .
evo took it to WRC, where it was dynoed at 552 bhp. The cars owner David Yu is now in discussion with Lingenfelter, to fnd out where the missing horses are.
Couldn't help laughing, shall I tell David to try dynoing it with the bonnet up.....

But they are American Ponies and not Briish Horses. Also barometric adjustment makes quite a difference. We had a similar 'hot' conversation for those that bought Amercian Speed engines on the Ultima forum.

David is a pal of mine, and I have experienced his ZO6. It is a seriously mental scary ultra fast ride. Fastest vehicle I have ever been in by far. After the Lingenfelter mods it is significantly quicker than a stock ZO6 which is way quicker than any monaro I reckon - even the blown ones.
I shall be very interested to hear if he finds his missing GGs !
All this dyno-ing stuff is fine and dandy, but its times that really matter at the end of the day!

Sadly the C6 Vette bonnet opens the wrong way to run with it open but as this car was nat asp it has no real need to. No heat soak from a top mounted supercharger to disperse.

v8d, the stock Z06 runs 11.8 1/4's STOCK! I think the only monaro that would be close to that on here would be that wrc twin turbo one.

I met David at vixpy's dyno where he and Eric both dyno'd just on 405bhp to the rear wheels, stock Z06. As we already know working out flywheel is pretty much guesswork. Charlie said he thought UK dyno's read about 10% less than the US in any case. My last dyno there was 345bhp to the rear by way of comparison.

Im sure the conversation about chasing "lost" numbers will be interesting. Much the same as the 10+ pages we have had here recently I'm sure.

Yet, I was involved with a new crate 2002 ls6 engine, run in for 8 hours on a stepped programme before the 'pull' and more tuning the next day. It made 395 at the flywheel with all ancilliaries no matter what tuning was done to it. Same dyno room where they did the spitfire merlin engines so brains and equipment wasn't lacking I can't get my head around the differing figures. Oh, I've also cammed ls1's and seen just over 400 hp from those with stock heads, again on engine dyno's. Incidentally I think people expect a t56 to soak up some 50 hp.

No not yet mate. That was before dyno tuning for spark too.

So I now have the fast90 installed and need to retune for max power, then do a power run..

.. then there is your exhaust to go on...

If I can touch 400rwhp Ill be very pleased.

Totally stock it was 260rwhp..

Hey Matey, Hows yer doing? Hope your karting career is going well !! ZO6 is 3.7 to 60 out of the box, but with drag rears they can do 3.4. Top spd claimed is 198 I think, but they actually do about 208 on the GPS. LS7 engine is awesome, but seems to have a real prob with popping cylinder liners when well modded, esp blowers and NOS. Lots of horror stories in the USA. Loads of rumours about the new "Blue Devil" Stingray Vette, but looks like a sorted 6.2liter blown V8 with 800 shaft horsepower. Might keep my cash and my C5 Vette til then. I had planned a ZO6 this year (lots of pressure from the Vette guys !!) But think I will get a AMV8V for 18 months until the new Vette is available. Anyone want a very nice blue Wortec'd CV8 ?? Hehehehehe

Hi mate! Yeah I am alright thanks, kart is currently getting professionaly set up in preparation for the new season at clay! Getting my race licence in feb so it is all go at the moment

That supercharged vette sounds insane, but the AMV8 must be one of the most beautiful cars ever made, can I have a ride?

You are right - it is simply stunning. A work of art really. Not the fastest thing around but pretty quick, bout same as my C5 Vette. But the grin factor is huge, and Mrs V8D approves which is a great help !
Have a ride? - You bet ! Hoping for May ish to get the thing.
